It’s the New Year! And this year, instead of starting off thinking of just ourselves, let’s also think of others. Let’s set goals that take into account how other people feel too. What is one of your goals that can help other people too? We’ll know how other people feel by looking at their: (1) Facial expressions; (2) Body Language; (3) The situation; and (4) What the person says. Then we need to put ourselves in their position–as we sometimes say, “take a walk in someone else’s shoes” and imagine how we would feel in the same situation. When we can understand how someone is feeling and even “feel” how they feel by “taking a walk in their shoes,” we can respond in a helpful way– this is all part of showing empathy.
Attention Junior Black Belts – We will be having a guest instructor on Wednesday, January 27 for our Black Belt class. Please be at the dojo by 7:15pm. Thank you. Shihan
